Easter in Malibu

Happy Spring! Officially, it’s been spring for about a month or so, but it never really feels like spring to me until we have had Easter. I have discussed my love for fall, but I probably love spring even more. I enjoy the warmer weather, longer days, and more colorful fashion. Not to mention how all of the adorable bunny, bird, and flower themed decorations fill the stores. Growing up, Easter was never as big of a holiday as Thanksgiving or Christmas. It was typically a more casual holiday for my family. My grandma would come over, my mom would make lunch, and we would all go for a walk around Laguna Beach. Little known fact: I grew up in the city adjacent to Laguna Beach! It was a gorgeous place to grow up. Because my immediate family is in the middle of a move this year, I spent this Easter with just my mom for brunch at Mastro’s Ocean Club Malibu

It’s no secret how much I love a good brunch. As “basic” as it might sound, I am not ashamed to admit that I love breakfast food at lunchtime with mimosas. Brunch is a fun social event that I usually use to catch up with some good girlfriends, and it was great to spend some quality time with my mom this time around. We both ordered the scallops, and we split a side of gorgonzola mac and cheese and truffle mushrooms. It was a very rich brunch that paired perfectly with my mimosa! Mastro’s is a collection of upscale steakhouses and fish houses. With some of the most amazing food and service, it is certainly worth treating yourself to at some point. My parents had been to the one in Newport Beach, but this was my first time dining at one of the restaurants. I was blown away by the delicious meal and picturesque views of the water. The Malibu location is located just above the shore! If you sit near the window, you can watch the waves crash on the shore while you enjoy your meal.

I decided to wear this floral dress I picked up while I was in Paris. One of the reasons I love to do a little shopping when I travel is because I remember my trip each time I wear it. By doing this, I’ve collected a few sentimental pieces over the years. This Easter, the weather was in the mid-60’s. For those living in colder places, that may sound like typical spring weather. For LA, that’s a little on chilly side! To combat a colder spring day, I paired my floral dress with my new favorite leather jacket. Despite the colder temps this week, I still opted for my platform sandals because of how perfectly they completed the look. Sometimes you just suffer a little for fashion!

I had an absolutely wonderful Easter, and I hope that you all are enjoying the spring season as much as I am. I’ve taken a quick break from writing about my week in Europe, but I’ll be posting about it to the blog soon!

xx
