Green Party Dress

Is YOLO still a thing? Some people may take that acronym a little too far, but I could use a little more of it. In general, I do my best to live by the mantra “Work hard, play hard.” Fortunately for me, this playful green dress that was screaming my name is definitely going to make me play a little harder! I wore this dress a few weeks ago on a night out with my roommate. We started at a small concert at the Masonic Lodge at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery before finishing our night with drinks and dancing. The concert was for Mahalia, a British singer and songwriter. I had never heard of her before, but I am so glad my roommate introduced me to her music. I highly suggest you all listen to it, for she is a wonderful and talented performer! The concert was at a building on the Hollywood Forever Cemetery property. The Hollywood Forever Cemetery is a famous cemetery, home to many prominent people. The cemetery also hosts other popular events, including movies during the summer that I plan to go to. After the concert, we headed to drinks and dancing at The Abbey in West Hollywood. With the school year nearly over, this was my last night out until the summer. I had a lot of various projects, exams, and finals looming around the corner, and I’m glad I was able to enjoy one night of fun before buckling down to finish out the quarter strong. Now that it is officially summer for me, I am looking forward to exploring more of LA’s night life, and this dress is absolutely prefect

This green faux suede dress was perfect for the night’s festivities. Not to mention just how soft it is! I do not normally wear a lot of green, but I should probably add more of it to my closet. I normally lean toward neutrals and colors that are not too far off from that. However, this dark emerald shade is a refreshing choice for me. I wore this to the concert with a denim jacket and black booties because of the colder weather and casual setting. If I were attending something a little more glamorous or wanted to step it up, I would wear black sandal heels and finish the look with an edgy black clutch. Believe it or not, I’ve had this particular clutch (pictured) since my junior year high school homecoming dance! I do not miss anything about high school, but putting the extra money into some of your pieces is totally worth it. After all, who would have thought this clutch would bring me into my early twenties!

I would not constitute myself as a massive party girl, but I definitely enjoy a good night out every couple of weeks. I think it’s healthy to maintain balance amidst the hustle of school and work. It is important to make time for yourself to enjoy quality time with your friends, and a night out dancing through the town is certainly a great way to make some memories, have fun, and let go of things that may be bothering you in other parts of your life. I am looking forward to the upcoming summer nights where I can hopefully break out this green party dress a little more.

xx
