Little Pink Skirt

Little Pink Skirt

Living in Los Angeles, I am fortunate enough for the summer weather to stay a little longer than it does in other parts of the country. While this may mean that I have to keep my air conditioning on a little longer, it also means I do not have to say goodbye to my summer wardrobe just yet. Some of my favorite articles of clothing to wear in the summer are skirts! I wore a uniform to school until I started college, so it’s safe to say that I have worn my fair share of skirts. Although the ones that I wore growing up were plaid, you might think that years of wearing a skirt to school every day would make me sick of them altogether and never want to wear another one in my life. However, I absolutely love how they can step up your look from the simple denim cut off shorts I usually don almost as a reflex.

This Free People skirt is nothing like my old uniform skirt. I love the tie on the side and how it wraps around to create a layered effect. I was immediately drawn to the stripes and cheery pink tones. Although this skirt also comes in a gorgeous blue, pink is my favorite color, so I was a little biased in this purchase. Perfect with sandals and a t-shirt for a quick trip to Target on the way home or heels and a slinky tank top for a night out, this skirt is versatile, chic, and one of my favorite pieces!

Even though pink is absolutely my favorite color, it is definitely lacking in my closet. I tend to pick up neutrals (grey and white are personal favorites) that make it easy to assemble an outfit in a pinch. However, I have made it a personal goal to add more color to my wardrobe, and this pink skirt is a delightful addition. Pink instantly makes this skirt fun, and the stripes contribute to the playful tone, while the asymmetrical hem keeps it interesting. This skirt instantly grabbed my eye on the rack, and it will certainly grab eyes out and about!
