Spring Jumpsuit

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had lovely weekends with their family, especially for all the moms out there. I had such a wonderful time yesterday with my mom for Mother’s Day. We went to Drybar for blowouts and then to Eataly for a late lunch. It was such a fun girls’ day! A little pampering and a great meal is exactly what the doctor called for. Also, if you live in LA, you must go to Eataly! They have some of the best pasta, and I love walking through the aisles of wine, sauces, and all the other tasty things I want to try at some point. It makes me want to visit Italy so badly. I know I’ll make it there eventually! Before my mom drove home, I surprised her with a pretty bouquet of flowers and a box of cookies. She has one hundred percent earned it, and I am so lucky to have her as my mom!

Although the LA weather lately has been the epitome of “May grey,” the sunnier weather a few weeks ago got me so excited for all of the spring fashion. Lately, I’ve been obsessing over jumpsuits. I just think they are the lazy girl’s best kept secret. Like dresses, they’re an all-in-one outfit. The obvious bonus of jumpsuits is that you don’t need to match pants and a top. You only put on the one article of clothing, grab your shoes, and off you go! In that regard, it is very much so like a dress. However, my favorite part of jumpsuits is that you don’t need to worry about your tucked in blouse bunching at the top of your waistband. That is probably one of my biggest fashion pet peeves!

I picked up this jumpsuit back in October, and I was able to wear it for a brief time before the temperatures dropped for the winter. Now that it’s spring, I think that this jumpsuit is more fitting than ever! The lightweight material breathes during the hotter months and makes it very comfortable to wear. The vertical stripes elongate your figure, and who doesn’t want that! I was unsure if I would be able to pull off the stripes on this jumpsuit, for I have a curvy/muscular body type. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the stripes are actually slimming and make you appear leaner. I thought that the whole thing about vertical stripes was just a myth until I saw it for myself! However, my favorite part of this jumpsuit is the the little ruffle detail in the straps. I think it is just the cutest!

This jumpsuit would be perfect for a luncheon, bridal shower, or spring party. Most recently, I wore it to a nicer lunch and paired it with my favorite nude sandal heels and gold jewelry. The taupe color is very versatile and not a massive statement. When we later decided to stroll around the Greystone Mansion gardens, I swapped out my nude sandal heels for strappy grey flats. I am especially looking forward to wearing this to brunch with my roommates. It will be a goodbye-brunch because one of us is moving out at the end of the school year to study abroad in Germany and Scotland. Although I’ll miss having her in the apartment, I cannot wait to hear about all of her travels when she gets back in 2020!

I have to admit that I have really been enjoying my weekly posts! One of my goals for 2019 is to be more dedicated to the blog. The blog adds a lot to my plate in addition to all of my schoolwork, especially since I have plans to go to grad school in the future (stay tuned for that journey!). However, making time for the blog is one hundred percent worth it because it has made me really happy. It has been a great creative outlet for me. Working on new content for the blog gives me one more reason to get out into the world, live life, and take advantage of everything the world has to offer. I absolutely love sharing my love of fashion and other lifestyle topics with you all. I look forward to continuing to share my passions and inspiring my readers to chase their own interests.

Stay tuned for more weekly Monday posts!

xx
