Over-the-Knee Boots

As much as I wanted to post this this week, I kept going back and forth because it quite frankly just wasn’t cold enough yet for me to go through with it! During the first week of school, I got sunburnt going to the activities fair. September usually feels like one of our hottest months, but it just didn’t quite make sense to post one more fall look when I was still recovering from a sunburn. However, I decided to change my mind when I woke up Saturday morning to a grey, overcast sky and mild temps.

Easily, my favorite fall obsession is boots! I always get so excited when I get the emails from Nordstrom about their new selection of boots. There are a few different kinds that I think everyone should have in their closet. The first being a heeled black bootie. I have had mine for years, and I have definitely gotten my money’s worth out of them. I primarily wear them to concerts and on dates, but occasionally I wear them class. I wouldn’t be surprised if I have to buy a replacement next year, for they are starting to look like they have seen better days! However, this blog post is about the over-the-knee boot, which is the next must-have boot for your fall wardrobe.

I have very muscular calves from all my years of competitive Irish dance growing up. Unfortunately, that makes finding any boots taller than a bootie pretty difficult. These Vince Camuto boots were a part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale last year, and I could not be happier that I came across them! Surprisingly, I wear the grey a lot more than you would think. It’s a nice alternative to black, while still being a versatile neutral shade. Aside from noting that I bought the wide calf option, I also wanted to talk about why I chose the flat heel. From my previous blog posts, you might notice that I love to wear a heel! Although I don’t wear heels on the daily, I try to wear them in my free time when I have the opportunity. There is just something so empowering about wearing heels. Quite frankly, it makes me feel like a queen. However, I do a lot of walking and needed my fall boots to be able to withstand a full day of errands or a full day of classes. These ones do just the trick, and I’ll be sure to link similar ones in the product carousel at the bottom of this post. Although I am now on the hunt for an over-the-knee heeled black boot, my flat grey pair will always hold a special place in my heart. The suede is so soft, and the criss cross detail running up the sides adds the perfect touch of intrigue to make it unique. We might not be completely out of the woods yet in terms of weather, but I am looking forward to being able to break these bad boys out a little more when the time is right.

This first official week of fall has been quite a busy one. For starters, classes started this week. However, it was relatively low-key for me because all but one class had been cancelled until the following week! The one class I was left with was even the class I am planning on dropping in favor of a class I am currently on the waitlist for (fingers crossed I make my way off the waitlist). However, I also went on a lot of dates this week because I am finally in a place where I feel like I can start the next chapter after my last relationship. Honestly, I don’t like the games people play when dating, but I like meeting so many new people. I am very social, and these dates are a great way to meet some cool guys while exploring different parts of the city, especially because everyone has a slightly different perspective of what makes LA so amazing. However, I was able to top off the week with a friend’s birthday party, brunch with one of the sweetest people I have ever known, and a movie with my roommate. Now that everyone has come back to LA after the summer, it feels really good to have social things on my calendar again. As always, schoolwork is my top priority and will always consume most of my time, but it’s nice to have such a full social life before the bulk of the quarter gets into full swing.

xx
